A natural Yoga Practitioner - inspired by Carrie Owerko

Carrie once said;

“ A natural practitioner is one who naturally take the whole you into explore new sides of poses. To explore oneself is to become alive, and also one must look at question that arises like ; How do I respond to unfamiliar stuff ? “

Little did we all know that Covid19 was about to begin. And I found that her words was resonating inside me. Every day was a new day, new disturbing news.. And I began to experience the online universe. As I watched Carries live streaming, I became so touched. I knew she was in NYC, and yet she was able to maintain a positive and strong attitude, and her devotion for the practice shined through. As everything changed all over the world within weeks, I experienced the true power of a solid yoga practice, and what it did to me. It was clear that although my students enjoyed the momentary “peace” being at home, quieting down, they still seemed shaken when coming for practice - it was a inner shake. And I saw how the peaceful yoga class would calm their nervous system, making them more at ease, and better in handling the unfamiliar situation we all were in. I saw how beautifully, and with outmost joy, Carrie would teach us online - and her naturalness shined through and into me practicing with her online. I felt comfortable enough to start teaching online - something I never thought would be possible. I adapted to the situation with ease and faith.

I thank Carrie, and I find her today as I did first time we met almost 25 years ago, “ A natural and pure practitioner “.
